It’s no secret I’m sucker for a visit to IKEA! As much as I hate to love the hotdogs which is questionable if there is any actual meat in them, I sure do love a good wander around there! come see what I got this visit!
Where i’m shopping now – IKEA
I was on route back from a wedding, I know I’m nearly home when the IKEA signs start popping up on the M1. Usually I’m doing this drive around 10PM and can’t snoop around a nice and quiet IKEA however this time around, It was 1:30 PM on a Sunday and as much as I was hoping people wouldn’t be doing their early Christmas shopping. I decided I wanted to brave the crowds.
As I expected, the only way I can explain it is literally herds of humans waddling through IKEA like Penguins. Me included of course. But that adds to the whole experience of IKEA, right? Christmas has kicked in now after all! So what was I so desperately going to IKEA to push through the crowds for anyway? I fancied a little nosey through the Christmas decorations, but what I love the most is the room displays. They always show their items in such a beautiful way, I just want to move in and live there! of course they always inspire me to spend more money than needed, and always come back with LOTS of goodies!
This time round, I tried to behave myself, however I got some cute little items I’ve got to share!
Autumn is my favourite time of year, and I just love all the colours that come with it! I couldn’t resist this beautiful bed throw (Looks like Wallace couldn’t either) with its gorgeous deep red and burnt orange tones. It was an absolute bargain for £5 and is so soft, warm and snuggly. I’ll certainly be fighting the cat over this. The best part? The cat isn’t even ours!! Only downside to the throw is it doesn’t cover the whole bed, only half. But for £5.. I can’t really grumble can I!
While i was drooling over all the room sets, I noticed that a vast amount of them was dressed for Christmas and I was seeing these Garlands everywhere. It wasn’t till I got to the very end of IKEA that I eventually found them and I was grabbing them out of the baskets along with a few other ladies. Trend setting this year of course! Such a versatile product, I’ve used it to decorate the headboard, however I noticed in IKEA that they was down staircases, winding through fairy lights, placed on top of book cases, decorating the bottom of furniture, and much, more! I only brought one.. if they’re still in stock when I next go.. a few more may fall into my basket! £7.50 isn’t too bad!
These cute little pine cones are part of the christmas range. I have to say I’m never thrown back by IKEA christmas range.. I honestly don’t think I’m ‘contemporary’ enough for it but it is all beautiful. Due to the sheer amount of people within the christmas section, I couldn’t get a good look at the christmas section properly. However I spotted these two candles from afar and took a liking to them. They’re nice and simple, and (nearly) too nice to burn! I think I need to sit them in the flat looking pretty for a bit, before I decide if I can ruin them with burning them!
One thing I’ve always loved about IKEA since I was going as a child was running into the rug section and hugging one of the sheepskin rugs. Such an amazing feeling, you could almost guarantee you would get a furry hug from the rugs every time you went to IKEA. We did buy one around a year ago, but sadly got ruined by a dog we was looking after and never got replaced. However much to my amazement they’ve introduced them in pillow form, so I can now hug one ALL THE TIME! Why had they not thought of this before?! Like seriously. It takes me back to my childhood every time I touch it!
That’s all for now, I’m sure I’ll be back soon enough though. So make sure to stop by and see what I get next!
